Zambia- Africa Project

This project started in response to a request for some garden produce for a food pantry in 2013.  As the need for fresh produce was identified over time, the project expanded to over 15 acres at the base site and added other locations and farmers to expand the needs.   The project typically raises and donates over 200,000 lbs. annually and involves over 2,000 volunteers of all ages annually.

Iowa Gardening for Good is partnering with Zambia Iowa Agricultural Partners to help teach small scale Zambian farmers grow more of their own food.  In the 2024/2025 growing season we helped train over 2,000 villagers on better farming techniques.  The 2025/2026 season has started and we anticipate over 10,000 villagers will get trained.
